Terms of Use
Last updated 2 July 2026
Please read these terms carefully. They form an agreement between you and Stead Group Pte. Ltd. when you use SteadSign.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of SteadSign, an electronic signature service provided by Stead Group Pte. Ltd. (“SteadSign”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, sending a document, or signing a document through SteadSign, you agree to these terms. If you are using SteadSign on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation.
2. The service
SteadSign lets you send documents for electronic signature, sign documents sent to you, and verify the authenticity of a signed document using a reference and a document fingerprint. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
3. Accounts and access
Senders need an account; signers do not. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and any signing link secure. A signing link is unique to a recipient and should not be shared. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
4. Electronic signatures
SteadSign produces electronic signatures intended to be valid under the Singapore Electronic Transactions Act. A signed record includes a tamper-evident audit trail, timestamps, and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the signed document. SteadSign does not provide legal advice; whether a particular document may be signed electronically, and its legal effect, is your responsibility.
5. Your documents
You retain all rights to the documents you upload or sign. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, stamp, and deliver them, and to generate the verification record. You are responsible for the content of your documents and for having the right to send them to your chosen recipients.
6. Document retention
The sender chooses how a signed document is retained after completion — deleted after signing, kept for a limited period, or stored in the vault. The verification record (certificate, audit trail, and fingerprint) is retained independently and remains available so a document can be verified even after the file itself is deleted.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use SteadSign to commit fraud, impersonate others, upload unlawful or infringing content, send unsolicited bulk messages, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
8. Fees
Some features are free and others are paid. Paid plans are billed as described at the time of purchase. Where you subscribe on the web, those terms apply to your subscription.
9. Intellectual property
SteadSign, its logo, and the software are owned by Stead Group Pte. Ltd. and its licensors. These terms do not grant you any rights in our brand or software except the right to use the service as intended.
10. Disclaimers
SteadSign is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, and our total liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified through the service or by email. You may stop using SteadSign at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or where required by law.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any applicable mandatory law.
